The Center for the Study of the Middle East (CSME) seeks an Outreach Graduate Assistant (GA) for the 2020-21 academic year, requiring 20 hours of work per week.  This position is for G901-eligible students only, and includes health insurance and a stipend. This position provides critical support for ensuring implementation of the Center’s activities.  The Outreach Graduate Assistant provides necessary support in the following key areas:  outreach, publicity through online digital outlets, clerical duties, and logistical support for lectures, conferences and workshops.

This position has support responsibility for both internal and external outreach activities; serves as the Center’s liaison to the International Outreach Council; coordinates and facilitates the Lunch and a Lecture Series; recruits advanced students and faculty experts for outreach programming both on campus and for community constituencies; prepares weekly staff meeting agendas.  This position assists with various aspects involved in the planning and coordinating of events and conferences, specifically travel coordination, room reservations, and preparing itineraries, program schedules and support materials; may also be responsible for social media outreach and publicizing Center activities. This GA will also share responsibility for tracking data for evaluations associated with grant reports.
